Watch! How Suspended AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa’s Lawyer Attacked Outside Party Office

At the AIADMK headquarters in Chennai, party cadres clashed with the lawyer of the expelled leader Sasikala Pushpa. The lawyer suffers from several injuries.

A report says that Pushpa arrived at the party office to file nomination papers for the post of party General Secretary, however, she was prevented from doing it.

The party’s general council was going to elect a general secretary tomorrow and Pushpa came to file a nomination for the post. Reports indicate that Sasikala Natarajan, late Jayalalithaa’s close aide, is believed to have a lot of support.

Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa earlier this month had alleged that AIADMK trying to arbitrarily appoint Sasikala Natarajan as the general secretary and approached the Madras High Court to restrain the party from doing so. She met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue and asked for a probe in Jayalalithaa’s death.

Pushpa alleges that Natarajan had tried to kill Jayalalithaa. “It would be wrong to nominate Sasikala Natarajan as the general secretary of the party. Because nowhere madam (Jayalalithaa) has mentioned her name. She has not even given her a counsellor or an MLA seat. It shows that political life is not fit for her. She was earlier expelled by Amma for conspiring against her and trying to kill her,” said Pushpa.

In befitting reply, party spokesperson CR Saraswathi said, “Sasikala Pushpa is no more in the party, she has no right to come to AIADMK headquarters.” She added saying, “Sasikala Pushpa is not a chosen representative. It was Amma who made her the MP.

The Rajya Sabha MP also submitted a written petition to the Supreme Court on Sunday asking CBI to probe into Jayalalithaa’s death.

Pushpa was thrown out of the party on August 1 for informing Parliament that she had been slapped by an AIADMK leader in Chennai, and she was also receiving death threats.

A false complaint was filed against Pushpa and her family for ill-treating and sexually abusing two domestic aides in 2011, she alleged.
