Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has always claimed himself to be an honest politician and had done several sting operations on several politicians, but now, ironically he has been accused of seven corruption charges. Former Delhi LG Najeeb Jung has filed seven corruption/ irregularities complaints against Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Government.
ANI quoted CBI saying, “Two FIRs filed, in rest probe is on.” According to yesterday’s report from PTI, LG Najeeb Jung had referred seven cases related to alleged corruption in Delhi Government to CBI
Yesterday, PTI had reported that the then Lt Governor Jung had attributed seven cases about alleged corruption in the Delhi government to CBI before resigning from the office. Reports suggested that the cases were referred on the basis of Shunglu panel observations. The panel had pointed out these alleged irregularities in the Delhi government’s functioning.
Recently, CBI had registered a case into the appointment of Nikunj Aggarwal as OSD to Health Minister Satyendra Jain, and alleged irregularities in the Delhi Wakf Board functioning.
Jung had formed a three-member committee chaired by former Comptroller and Auditor General V K Shunglu with ex-chief election commissioner N Gopalaswami and ex-chief vigilance commissioner Pradeep Kumar. The three-member committee was formed on August 30, 2016 to investigate the irregularities in the Delhi government functioning.
The Committee had examined “irregularities” and “infirmities” in over 400 files on decisions taken by the AAP government, and the committee’s tenure was to end on December 2, but it had submitted its report to the LG office on November 27.
The Delhi High Court had ordered that the Lt Governor as the administrator of the national capital and the court had rejected several pleas challenging the LG’s authority. Following the Delhi High Court order, Jung had ordered examining of the files.
