India will give a cold, calculated and befitting reply to Pakistan! V K Singh!

Home Minister Rajnath Singh has called for a high-level meet today on September 19, and to be attended by the Defence Minister, Intelligence agency chiefs, Home and defence Secretaries, police officials and other leaders from MHA and MoD, to review the situation in Kashmir. 17 army soldiers were killed and 19 others injured, in one of the worst terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Union Minster of State for External Affairs V.K. Singh told to TC channel India Today, “India will give a befitting reply.” Calling out to the Indian armed forces to “scale up their security,” Gen. Singh said a “cold and calculated response is the need of the hour.”


Following a gunfight which went on for three hours, the four terrorists were neutralised. Initial probes suggested that the militants belonged to a Pakistan-based organisation called ‘Jaish-e-Muhammad’. Army chief General Dalbir Singh and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had immediately flown to Srinagar to take stock of the situation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had condemned the attack. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has reportedly said that India will raise the Uri Attack issue in UN General Assembly and strongly emphasise on Pakistan’s involvement.


Meanwhile, restrictions and shutdown continue to consume the Valley for the 73rd day. the United Nations in a statement has said that it is following the developments in the issue closely and shares concerns of people living in the region for peace. Earlier today, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar went to PM Modi to brief him on the situation of the Uri attack.
