The news about Donald Trump Jr.’s alleged 2016 meeting with Russian lawyer just won’t quit. Each day a new name comes up, who appears to be an accomplice in the meeting. Shep Smith of Fox News got the wind of an eighth confirmed participant in Trump Jr.’s 2016 meetings with a Russian lawyer.
CNN was the first to reveal the eighth accomplice in the alleged meeting, following a report from the Associated Press revealed that a Russian-American lobbyist named Rinat Akhmetshin had also attended the meeting. Now the list of known participants includes Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Akhmetshin, music publicist Rob Goldstone (who helped set up the meeting) plus a translator and a representative of the Russian family who had asked Goldstone to set up the meeting.
Smith appeared to be agitated by the news and he went on a rant how Trump administration denied that anything untoward or illegal took place:
“If there’s nothing there — and that’s what they tell us; they tell us there’s nothing to this, and nothing came of it, there’s a nothing burger, it wasn’t even memorable, didn’t write it down, didn’t tell you about it, cause it wasn’t anything, so I didn’t even remember it!”

While we can only raise our hands in a silent “amen” to Smith’s reaction, Fox’s loyal following did not feel the same way. Many even called for Smith to be fired.
